So I’m still getting the hang of this whole wordpress business. I’m an amateur photographer from northern Rhode Island. I enjoy photographing all types of things, from sports to street life. I try and post my better shots here each week, I’d love to hear your feedback on my images. Please do not copy or reuse these photos without contacting me first.

I’ve been an art director for over 22 years, & Painter/Sculptor/Photog for 30. I like your shots, you have some nice stuff. One suggestion, there are several pieces where you’ve composed the subject EXACTLY centered top, bottom, left, right. The word(S) of the day is “Dynamic Composition”. Moving things a little off of center or at angles creates more tension and holds the viewers interest more than dead centered on the page. Think of it like this… we live in a vertical and horizontal world. If a picture is even slightly crocked, you’re going to be twitching until you fix it. THAT’s the itch that will hold your audiences attention and MAKE THEM HAVE TO LOOK AT YOUR STUFF.
DON’T stop what you’re doing. SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT. some of your shots are portfolio ready others not. you’ll be there when YOU know the difference. This is just critique… which means listen to it, keep what you feel works for you and piss away the rest. I hope this is of help.
Peace to you sdizzy.
